This means that the GoPro can pick up clear audio moments after leaving the water.

The Hero4 Session has two microphones and Mr Kinman said when it records, it can dynamically switch between them to reduce wind or water noise. The Session can sense its orientation, and will flip its video in 180-degree increments.

Battery life is max two hours, which is to be expected, and will be less with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on.

Compared with other GoPros, the Session’s ruggedized, compact style created it easier to consider it as camera I will simply keep in my bag. The problem is that the camera has to start up each time you hit the record button, resulting in a four-second delay, which can be a long time when trying to capture an action shot.

Simplicity is key. So there is just one button on the Session. Well, it doesn’t have an LCD screen, for one. It’s tiny. And that’s okay.

He elaborated, “It’s the smallest camera we have ever made”. A pleasing rubber material coats the camera.

Session is easier to use than other Hero models. And that’s important. GoPro cameras have always been a bit convoluted. The new shape is quite a change for GoPro, which has previously gone with cameras shaped more like an oversized box of matches; rectangular with a protruding fisheye lens. This doesn’t happen with the Session. Press the shutter button again to save video or photo content and power the camera off. These two buttons are clearly differentiated and can not be confused. Among the certain users of the new HERO4 Session will be included Google, which will create immersive 360-degree virtual reality videos by using a 16-camera mount with HERO4 cameras. And that’s exactly what the firm needs to do.

Auto Low Light recording modes.

While on the course, I couldn’t help thinking about all the different activities that The Strap could be used for to produce even more interesting results.

Frame rates for the new unit are 30 fps for 1440p, and 60 fps for 1080p.

Unlike the Polaroid Cube, the Session shoots higher-quality videos up to Full HD 1080 at 60p and 1440 at 30p.

The GoPro Hero 5 news indicates that the device may release in winter season of 2015. Seen from the Session’s camera lens, the tyke appeared like a large stomping around toy trains. But at almost $400, the Session might be a tough sell. The possibilities for awesome GoPro videos now might truly be endless! The video quality looks as good we’ve come to expect from GoPro. Other settings can be adjusted using a companion smartphone app available for both Android and iOS.

When it comes it action cameras…

But the sticking point for consumers is still going to be the price. For them, the Session is the very best camera on the market for documenting the rough and tumble of family life.
