‘Gotham’ Recasting a Real Poison Ivy for Major Season 3 Role
Big news at “Gotham” as the series will be giving one of its characters a big makeover and a promotion.

For the ones who have followed “Gotham” religiously, Clare Foley played the role of “Poison Ivy” (or Ivy as “Selina Kyle/Catwoman” (Camren Bicondova) called her) as a seemingly harmless teenager.
Why? The show is going to age her up. The show has clearly gotten somewhat liberal when it comes to how they’ve went about adapting this character, and we wonder if this new version means that they’ll either try to rewrite history somewhat, or opt instead to give some sort of super-creative reason behind the character looking much older than she has. The Fox series is reportedly re-casting the role of Ivy Pepper (a.k.a. Poison Ivy) after child actress Clare Foley appeared intermittently in the show’s two previous seasons.
Of the many proto-Batman figures FOX’s Gotham has introduced in two seasons, perhaps none has seemed so weird as the pilot’s “Ivy Pepper”, a young figure implied to be the series’ take on Poison Ivy, and occasionally reappearing in minor roles.
When actors begin getting cast in these roles, we’ll be sure to let you know. TV Line reports that the character will be upped from recurring to a series regular for season three, expanding her story, but the actress is now out of a job.

In case you didn’t notice, Gotham are also looking for their very own Vicki Vale, who was played by Kim Basinger in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman. Stephens mentions a handful of villains including The Mad Hatter, Talon and more. There are also rumors making their way around the internet that site that Season 3 will welcome the Tweedle Brothers, the Court of Owls, Talon and Solomon Grundy. It’s believed that this is The Mad Hatter, a Lewis Carroll-inspired baddie who has already been confirmed for Gotham season 3.
