Per TVLine, it seems the initial casting reports for 20-something journalist “Valerie” were accurate after all, adding Chung in the role of Valerie Vale.

In Gotham, Valerie Vale will be Gotham Gazette’s new reporter who is determined to find out what’s happening at the Indian Hill research facility. Dr. Jekyll (Hank Harris) and Mr. Hyde (Sam Witwer) were already introduced during the previous season finale as the new villains. “Confident and dogged, she will do anything to get the scoop, and soon sets her sights on Gordon, who she believes is the key lead in her story”.

Actress Jamie Chung attends the Saks OFF 5TH celebration for the opening of the 57th Street location featuring the first-ever Gilt in-store shop in New York City. She also recently voiced the role of “GoGo” in “Big Hero 6”, and will continue THE VOICE role in the upcoming TV series. Chung played Mulan in Once Upon a Time. Poison Ivy as well needed a bit of a reboot in character and the re-casting of the part will hopefully give it the kick it needed to become as memorable as other villains are within the story.

Nevertheless, Ben McKenzie will return for the role of Detective James Gordon while series regulars like Robin Lord Taylor and Camren Bicondova will also be in the next season as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin and Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman, respectively.
