Gov. Chris Christie endorses Donald Trump

Buckley said he informed Baker of the endorsement after watching Christie and Trump make the televised announcement in Fort Worth, Texas, Friday afternoon, just before a Trump rally. But he said he doesn’t anticipate voting for Trump or Texas U.S. Sen.

Talk about yuge: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie threw his support Friday behind his former rival in the Republican presidential primaries, Donald Trump.

Rubio, a USA senator from Florida, went on the attack again on Friday at a rally in Dallas.

Christie said the billionaire businessman had the best chance of beating Democrat Hillary Clinton in the November 8 USA presidential election. He also knocked Trump for lacking policy depth. (The math is close to conclusive.) Why not get on board now with Trump and perhaps reap the rewards rather than continue to fight a battle that looks increasingly unwinnable?

Trump, who previously dismissed the importance of endorsements, said Christie is “the one endorsement that I felt very strongly about”. Ted Cruz. “Cruz lies, but at least it’s reasonable lies”. Rubio doubted the answer and then challenged Trump to release his tax returns, which he has not done so far. By endorsing Trump right now – the real estate mogul is on the verge of seizing a commanding lead on Super Tuesday – Christie puts himself in position to be considered for the national ticket.

However, the longest heated exchange of words was between Trump and Rubio when they were posed questions on the proposal to build a wall on the US-Mexico border.

Christie was also in the running for the Republican nomination.

“He’s been my friend for many years”.

The Republican presidential front-runner misspelled “honor”, and his error has spurred both amused and critical responses on Twitter.

Republican candidate Donald Trump has won the endorsement of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, who who backed Christie days before the New Hampshire primary, watched this unfold.

“I’ve been on that stage”.

Trump called the first-term Florida senator “a nervous basket case”, “a choke artist”, “a frightened little puppy” and insulted the size of his ears.

After Rubio jabbed Trump for using H-1 visas to staff his properties, Trump accused Rubio of “not knowing anything” about business. “Desperate people in campaigns do desperate things”.

Christie added that Trump was the one candidate who would be “strong enough to take on the D.C. establishment”, which Christie said Rubio embodies.

The endorsement was a tightly held secret until Christie dramatically entered a news conference alongside Trump.

“He’s not going to be the nominee”, Rubio shot back. After all, Christie had savaged Trump as unelectable just a few weeks ago. Lindsey Graham derided Trump and said the party had gone “batshit insane”. “I still think it’s pretty early”, Baker said.
