A day-long trip across Illinois ended in Chicago – where Walker addressed attacks by Donald Trump, and talked about changes he has in mind for the federal government.

I ” m proud to be here today officially – since we got into the race on the 13th of July – to tell you I’m Scott Walker, I’m running for President and I’m asking for your vote”, said Gov. Walker.

“Donald Stump can speak fine for Donald Trump”, Walker told reporters.

“Other than that, I’d leave those requirements and those responsibilities to the state government, where the people making those decisions have to live with them“, he told the Examiner.

Feeling right at home at Chuck’s Harley-Davidson, Gov. Walker gave his first campaign speech in Illinois, emphasizing his Midwestern roots.

The chairman of the state Republican Party, Brad Courtney, said in the statement that the party achieved historic success under Fadness’ leadership. Mike Duffey will take over as director of the state GOP.

Walker, who was aggressively targeted by national Democrats in his re-election bid last year, is the latest Republican presidential candidate to find himself the focus of unwanted attention from Trump, the real estate mogul and reality television celebrity who has upended the Republican race in recent weeks. “I think they’re exhausted of candidates talking about who they’re against”, said Walker.

“Illinois and every other state has the equivalent of the Environmental Protection Agency”.

“I was in Missouri yesterday, I’m here today and I was in North Carolina on Friday”, said Walker.

Governor Walker will be in Pennsylvania Tuesday, July 28th as he completes the final phase of an ambitious, three-week announcement tour.
