Gov. Snyder: Clinton politicizing Flint’s water crisis

Gov. Rick Snyder took a verbal beating from Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders during the latest debate Sunday night and fought back on social media. The corrosive water caused lead to leach from old pipes. Democratic presidential hopeful and U.S. Sen. And the governor of that state acted as though he didn’t really care.

The American singer Cher has joined forces with Icelandic Glacial in an effort to donate bottled Icelandic water to Flint, Michigan, RÚV reports. We’re taking every action within reason and actually asking people to go beyond reasonable to help address this question because this is something nobody wanted to see ever happen.

On Saturday, President Obama declared a state of emergency in MI, authorizing the Federal Emergency Management Agency to provide water, filters and other items for 90 days.

On the eve of his most important State of the State message from the governor, it’s expected that this year’s speech will garner national attention.

“It’s probably the most important speech he will give in his entire public career”, Rossman-McKinney said.

The declaration was requested Thursday by Gov. Rick Snyder, a Republican, who had also sought a major disaster declaration and asked for almost $96 million to be expedited for relief efforts.
