Government has full faith in Arvind Subramanian: Jaitley
On Wednesday, he found somebody else who must follow Rajan: right from early morning, he targeted another foreign-education economist in the government setup, Arvind Subramanian.

He further posted: “Now PTs (Patriotic Tweeple) can understand why our core economic sectors could not perform last two years. Trojan horses galore in MoF/ Fin Institutions”.
Minister of state for finance Jayant Sinha told India Today, “All of us in the finance ministry have extreme confidence in the professional capability of Arvind Subramanian and his service to the country”. “Does any PT know?”, he said.
Subramanian was picked in a Bloomberg survey as the most likely to succeed Rajan among the five candidates the government is said to be considering.
Incidentally, both Rajan and Arvind Subramanian have worked at the International Monetary Fund.
Jaitley made the comments when reporters at the scheduled media briefing to announce Cabinet decisions asked about Swamy’s remarks against CEA. “How can we can such a person an advisor here?”, Swamy said.
BJP national secretary Shrikant Sharma said the party does not agree with Swamy. “This is completely his personal opinion”.
In another instance, the CEA disagreed with Governor Rajan’s statement on January 25, 2016.
Forbes said since India’s is the most robust economy in the world, it is necessary to welcome talents from various parts of the world.
As opposition Congress saw Swamy’s real target in Jaitley, IT and Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad responded saying, “integrity of Arun Jaitley is impeccable”.
Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, in a tweet, also said that Swamy’s target was Jaitley.
To buttress his points about CEA taking anti-India stance, Swamy tweeted Subramanian’s article of 2013 titled ‘Is the Modi miracle overrated?’

Congress communication chief Randeep Surjewala voiced similar views, alleging that Swamy was being used by Narendra Modi to do dirty work as directly attacking reputable personalities could be counter-productive.
