Government offices closed for Thanksgiving, some closed Friday as well
The Irving Arts Center will be closed Thursday and the center’s administrative offices will also be closed Friday.

OPEN: Government offices, including the DMV, libraries, and city and state courts. This includes the Community Development department and City Attorney’s Office. Thursday routes will be serviced on Friday and Friday routes will be serviced on Saturday. Pickup in other cities may be delayed.
Some retail stores will be closed Thursday, but some will have extended shopping hours Friday through Sunday.
Sparks Parks & Recreation (98 Richards Way) will be closed, including the Alf Sorensen Community Center (1400 Baring Blvd) and the Larry D. Johnson Community Center (1200 12th Street). Many communities host holiday tree-lighting ceremonies Friday.
About the only things open on Thanksgiving will be stores and restaurants, as most government offices in the Madison area and beyond shut down for the holiday.
LIBRARIES: Riverside County and San Bernardino County libraries are closed today and Friday.
Ames residents are reminded that several city of Ames departments and divisions are closed today for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Regional Animal Services shelter operations and office will be closed, but field operations will continue as normal.
Many convenience stores will remain open Thursday. CyRide will run a Sunday break schedule on Sunday. If Thursday is your garbage or organics collection day, put your items out after 4 PM on Thursday.

The Staten Island Ferry follows a normal weekday schedule. Passenger Services will be closed on Thanksgiving but re-open on November 27.
