There are reports that separatists plan to organise events across the region to celebrate Pakistan Day on August 14.
Invoking former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee again, he said his government would follow the path shown by him, a reference to the former Prime Minister’s offer to hold dialogue under the framework of “insaniyat (humanity), jamhuriyat (democracy) and Kashmiriyat”. “Even if it decides to send an all party delegation there is no clarity on who it will meet and talk to”. Opposition parties also demanded to ban the use of pellet guns against the protesters. Over 50 people have been killed and more than 5,000 injured in clashes between protestors and security forces. “We assure our fulll cooperation”, Singh said.
