Grab Your Puffed Sleeves: Netflix Is Adapting Anne of Green Gables
CBC, which aired the original “Anne Of Green Gables” mini-series with Megan Follows and the 1990s’ “Road To Avonlea” starring Sarah Polley, will co-produce along with Netflix.

Award-winning director Niki Caro (Whale Rider, McFarland USA, Zookeeper’s Wife) has signed on to direct the two-hour premiere episode.
Ms. Caro will work with Ms. Walley-Beckett, who has also won three Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for Flesh & Bone andBreaking Bad and is writing the series’ first season that is being produced by Northwood Entertainment Founder and President, Miranda de Pencier. Before long, the spirited 13-year-old transforms the lives of the spinster and her brother as well as the lives of everyone living in their small town.

Production is set to begin in Ontario next month. Also producing are Alison Owen and Debra Hayward, who are also showrunners alongside Walley-Beckett. The show will stream globally on Netflix as it airs on CBC-TV in Canada next year. Members can watch as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, on almost any Internet-connected screen.
