Confusion reigned as the trade deadline came and went for the Atlanta Hawks who acquired veteran guard Kirk Hinrich and also opened a roster spot in a three-way trade that also involved the Utah Jazz. Hinrich was reacquired by Chicago as a free agent prior to the 2012-13 season after stints with Washington and Atlanta. That was his only full season in the D-League, and he had a pretty good season, averaging 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, a league-leading 2.4 steals and 1.2 blocks in 34.7 minutes.

Holiday signed with the Hawks last July and has played in 94 National Basketball Association games with Atlanta, Golden State and Philadelphia. The Bulls should also pick up a Traded Player Exception worth $1,907,664 in the deal (the difference in Hinrich’s and Holiday’s salaries). He’s actually got a higher shooting percentage from three-point range (41.1) than his overall shooting percentage (39.8) this season. In 868 career games, Hinrich has averaged 11 points and 6.8 assists. During his first two seasons at Butler, Mack teamed with current Jazzman Gordon Hayward, as the pair led Butler to the school’s first ever Final Four and an appearance in the 2010 title game.
