Graeme McDowell finishes third at the RSM Classic

The move has paid off with the former world number three climbing from 75th at the end of last season to 24th, but even this week’s change in membership criteria has not been enough to persuade the 38-year-old to rejoin. He just didn’t win.

He has lost in a playoff three times – to Jim Furyk in the RBC Heritage at Hilton Head, to Rickie Fowler at The Players Championship and in a four-man playoff at The Greenbrier Classic. The 18-year-old New Zealander remains in control of year-end honors.

Kerr is 38, and says she doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon.

“It’s the most special place to ever go”, Kisner said about Augusta National.

“I’ve been working really, really hard, and thankfully I’ve got a few good people around me that help me keep believing and trusting and working”, he said. “I did it on the front nine”.

McDowell miscued his tee shot on the seventh during the final round of the RSM Classic hit and it went sailing into the fans. He thought that might be the case again Saturday when he three-putted from 60 feet for bogey on the second hole, and then missed the green left on the par-3 third hole and missed a 10-foot par putt. “Maybe one shot better and maybe take him to a play-off”.

Kisner was at 16-under 196, a record 54-hole score at Sea Island. He and Chappell will play together for a second day in a row in the final threesome, along with McDowell.

McDowell, who won the OHL Classic in Mayakoba on Monday, shrugged off the mistake, took his one-shot penalty, and put the incident quickly behind him to salvage par by hitting a nice seven-iron to 10 feet and holing the putt.

2 – Graeme McDowell has finished 2015 strongly.

Kevin Chappell, whose two late birdies for a 67 allowed him to win the B-Flight at Sea Island, was not about to argue. He holed a long birdie putt on the 18th for a 67 and earned $228,000 this week, pushing his season total to almost $356,000.

Chappell added, “Your goal is to win, but (Kisner) wasn’t going to let anyone else do that today”. He’ll start at Kapalua for the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. “Hopefully the floodgates open and this continue to win more like more as we’ve seen it do with other players”, Kisner said after his round Sunday. “I hope that catapults me into believing that every week”.
