Graham drops out of presidential race
“Graham had one good point during his campaign: Whether you’re an evangelical Christian or Caitlyn Jenner – the radical Islamic extremists of ISIS want to kill you all the same”, Angelo said. With Graham out, influential South Carolina Republicans who have been loyal to him can begin making new choices among the remaining candidates.

Graham, about to enter the crowded GOP field of presidential hopefuls, has announced he’s retiring from the Air Force Reserve.
Graham said he got into the campaign to turn back the tide of isolationism rising in the Republican Party and said enormous progress was made on that front in December.
Graham’s announcement may be a bow to dollar-and-cents reality: It came days before the presidential campaigns close their fundraising books for the fourth quarter of 2015; numerous campaigns are frantically engaged in year-end fundraising pleas.
Graham predicted that whoever emerges as the Republican nominee would adopt the policy he embraces in confronting the Islamic State terrorist group – a U.S.-led coalition that would necessitate the participation of American ground troops.
Earlier in the morning, the senator had told CNN he was ending his campaign out of a “desire to help the country”, adding, “I’ve hit a wall here”. “Today, most of my fellow candidates have come to recognize this is what’s needed”. Later, he said that if he were to endorse, he’s looking for the candidate best fit to be Commander-in-Chief and also who can win.
“He’s got clout in this state”, said South Carolina GOP strategist Chip Felkel, “but it’s going to be with the business community and more mainstream Republicans than with the far right”.
“While the race will miss his unique voice of truth and experience, the @LindseyGrahamSC fight must carry on”, Romney tweeted.
“The one presidential candidate who has consistently favored comprehensive immigration reform just dropped out of the race after attracting virtually no support”, Democratic National Committee spokesman Eric Walker said in a statement. Ted Cruz. “I don’t think much of Lindsey Graham”.
Donald Trump is the GOP leader in SC, according to a CBS News/YouGov poll conducted last week.
God bless our fighting men and women, and God bless America.
Graham’s withdrawal drew self-serving personal praise from his direct rivals whose meager poll numbers can only benefit from his dropping out.
Amazingly, this is Graham’s first major political defeat.

The day after he announced his run for president, Graham released an impressive 100-person fundraising network in the Palmetto State.
