Graham to fundraise for Cruz’s 2016 bid
“I think his campaign is built on xenophobia, race baiting and religious bigotry”, he said, “and I think Senator Cruz is a conservative who I can support”. Ted Cruz in an effort to derail Donald Trump from securing the Republican nomination, NBC News reported.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump addresses the crowd during a campaign rally at Lenoir-Rhyne University March 14, 2016 in Hickory, North Carolina.
Recently, Graham joked that Cruz was so unpopular in the Senate that someone could kill Cruz on the Senate floor, have the trial held in the Senate, and be acquitted.
With Hensarling, Cruz has endorsements from 28 representatives, along with Utah Sen.
I’m going to help Ted in every way I can. Sen.
(CNN) – In a sign of just how much the Republican presidential primary has turned the party on its head, Sen.
Graham says while he thinks Ohio Gov. John Kasich may be the better candidate, Cruz has the best shot of taking down Trump.
Graham said he will headline a fundraiser in support of the Texas senator on Monday, in connection with the upcoming conference of the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC.
Perhaps Rubio didn’t endorse Cruz outright because of the bitterness of their rivalry prior to their unwritten alignment to turn their focus on Trump some weeks ago.
Instead, he specifically said Cruz is the only conservative left in the race, by which he sent a signal that John Kasich is not suitably conservative and that he, Rubio, cares deeply about conservatism.
Graham said Thursday that people can take what he says “with a grain of salt, but I’ve come to conclude that Mr. Trump is not a Republican, that he’s an interloper, that he’s jumped into the race that’s all about Trump. That might be the end of the Republican Party as I know it”.
Jenner added Cruz “would probably be the worst” in terms of LGBT issues, but that she still likes him “because of his views to fix the country, not his views on trans issues”.

“You son of a b–, the Republic is at stake”, Beck said on his radio program. But on Thursday, Graham told CNN that not only is he supporting Cruz, he’s fundraising for him. Graham, as you may remember, ran for president for a brief spell.
