Graham: Trump’s praise of Putin ‘unnerves me to my core’

Ryan, asked about Trump calling Russian President Vladimir Putin a better leader than President Obama, said he had read a snippet of Trump’s comments, made Wednesday night at a candidate forum.

During a national security speech earlier in the day, Trump attacked Clinton for her past support of military action in Iraq and Libya, saying that “she’s trigger-happy and very unstable, whether we like it or not”. She was using the limited time to discuss serious issues, she said, while Trump “chose to talk about his deep admiration and support for Vladimir Putin. Secretary Clinton, how can you expect those such as myself who were and are entrusted with America’s most sensitive information to have any confidence in your leadership as president when you clearly corrupted our national security?”

Clinton said she regretted her decision as a US senator from NY to vote in favor of the 2003 Iraq war and said Trump had been in favor of it as well.

Another question gave Clinton the pretext to repeat her position on fighting Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in Iraq and Syria.

“I have a substantial chance of winning, but if I win I don’t want to broadcast” the plan, Trump said.

Earlier Wednesday, Trump pledged to increase U.S. military spending – already at levels far higher than any other nation – and to demand a plan to beat the Islamic State (IS) group if he becomes president.

Ordering the Pentagon to present a plan within 30 days of his inauguration to defeat and destroy the Islamic State.

Clinton’s argument that Trump is ill-prepared to be commander in chief has been bolstered by a flood of Republican national security experts who have chosen to back the Democratic nominee instead of their own party’s pick. “I think maybe the Democrats are putting that out”, Trump said. While the candidates never appeared on stage together, the session served as a preview of sorts for their highly-anticipated presidential debates. A fundraising email sent out by the Clinton campaign on Thursday used Lauer’s failure to “fact-check Trump” to rally supporters. “I find it frustrating, but it’s part of the landscape we live in”.

It was the first time the candidates had appeared back-to-back at an event since they secured their parties’ nominations, and the evening offered a preview of their first debate on September 26.

So, speaking of Hillary’s record, let’s focus on some of her whoppers, at least two of which she characterized last night as “mistakes”.

The Democratic presidential nominee spent nearly a third of her allotted half-hour explaining and apologizing for her use of a private email server while Secretary of State.

On the USA intervention in Libya in 2011, Clinton rejected Trump’s criticism of her support for the effort as secretary of state.

He caused a stir by defending a tweet that implied military sexual assault is a result of women serving in the military.

Most national polls show a tight race with Clinton in the lead as the United States presidential race enters its home stretch with just nine weeks until the November 8 election. And for the first time, he opened the door to granting legal status to people living in the USA illegally who join the military.

“When I think back to the time I spent here as a boy, I can’t help but be struck by the extraordinary progress that’s been made by the region in the decades since, even if there’s still a lot of work to be done”, Obama said.
