The 23-year-old singer says he sat for about 4 hours with a group of Madame Tussauds artists however then misplaced weight and needed to pose once more. But this time, it was with his newly created wax figure.

Chris Connors, General Manager of Madame Tussauds, said: “Madame Tussauds is honoured to celebrate Sam Smith’s musical accomplishments here in San Francisco and to welcome him into our effervescent Music Room”. The process was so fascinating and I will never look at a wax figure in the same way again.

The star told fans on social media: “Having a little bit too much fun at Madame Tussaud’s in San Fran right now”.
