Yesterday we could firmly state that Gran Turismo Sport was inbound for Playstation 4 on November 16th this year, but that is no longer the case. No specific date has been given, just 2017 release.

Gran Turismo overlord Kazunori Yamauchi made the announcement on the official PlayStation Blog: ‘As we approach our planned release date in November, we realise we need more time to ideal GT Sport, to which we’ve already dedicated so much effort to since announcing the title, and do not want to compromise the experience’.

According to Yamauchi, Gran Turismo Sport is one of Polyphony’s most ambitious undertakings, owing to the use of the “latest technologies, such as physics-based rendering and sound simulations”.

“However, as we approach our planned release date in November, we realize we need more time to ideal GT Sport, which we’ve already dedicated so much effort towards since announcing the title”.

There’s no firm release date for Gran Turismo Sport at the moment, but we’ll keep you updated as more information comes our way. Since then, there have been numerous Gran Turismo titles across nearly all Sony consoles including PSP with Gran Turismo Sport set to mark the official arrival of the franchise on new generation consoles.

Gran Turismo Sport will appear at various gaming events worldwide though so it’s not going into hiding until next year. Was there even a Gran Turismo game that didn’t suffer a delay or two?
