Grand Alliance halted BJP’s march to Kolkata, says Lalu Prasad Yadav
The Grand Alliance led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar routed the BJP-led coalition despite an aggressive campaign by PM Modi, who addressed almost 30 rallies in Bihar.

Stating that the GST rollout is a “matter of time”, Jaitley said the “obstructionist” position of the Congress will not continue for long as the country’s mood is reform-oriented.
Party rebel Shatrughan Sinha promptly congratulated the Grand Alliance, saying that the issue of “Bihari versus Bahari” had been settled. State JD(U) spokesman Ajay Alok said all major “anti-NDA parties will unite in coming days”.
Jaitley also said that they failed to estimate the popularity surge of the Grand Alliance.
“The party rejects Singh’s criticism”.
Meanwhile BJP MP Bhola Singh said on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “unparliamentary language” during the election campaign was one of the reasons why the BJP lost the Bihar battle.
Against the backdrop of BJP’s crushing defeat in Bihar, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat may have become the fall guy for his reservation remarks, but insiders said Modi baiters played a big role in the whole episode. Lal Krishna Advani and three other BJP veterans have issued a strong statement on the party’s defeat in Bihar, demanding a thorough review and criticising its stand on the debacle. “During the campaign, local BJP leaders were sidelined and ignored”, he said.
BJP and modi chief Amit Shah came in the line of fire with Singh, a party veteran accusing them of injecting communalism in an effort that, he said, should have been about the development of the state.
“They have withdrawn the special category status from Assam and other northeastern states, changed the funding pattern and deprived us of the dues we are supposed to get, leading to unemployment”, he said.
While Advani is credited with building the BJP since it was left with just two Lok Sabha seats in 1984, Joshi – like Advani – has been a former party president. “We want action from Modi, not mere show of sympathy”, Gogoi said.
“Prime Minister fell to Lalu’s googly and left his “sabka saath sabka vikas” pitch”.
