A McLennan County grand jury on Wednesday cleared three Waco police officers of any wrongdoing in the 2015 gunfight that erupted between police and biker gangs in which nine people were killed. No formal charges have been made, and it remains unclear whose bullets, including police bullets, struck the dead and injured, or when cases will be presented to a grand jury, which is now led by a Waco police detective.
Interim Police Chief Frank Gentsch declined requests for on-camera interviews outside the grand jury room but released this statement.
“I think officers were just doing their jobs”.
“These officers acted professional under very hard circumstances”.
Stroman has said the three officers were on administrative leave for about two months after the shootout and then were placed on administrative duty.

Rival biker gangs began to shoot at each other in the parking lot of a Twin Peaks restaurant, formerly located in the Central Texas Marketplace in Waco.
Four of the people killed in the shootout and one of the wounded were struck with bullets from.223-caliber rifles, the only type of firearms police used at the scene, according to an Associated Press report. Altogether, 44 shell casings were recovered at the scene.
