Grandview man charged with father’s murder

According to court documents 44-year-old Kyle Webb told investigators he and his father, Franklin Webb, had gotten into an argument over a leaking pipe at their residence in the 7800 block of 129th Terrace in Grandview on Saturday night.

After the man lost consciousness, the son waited two to three minutes before calling police, the police report states.

That’s when Webb says his father started shouting down disapproving and disparaging comments regarding the way he was going about the job, saying he wasn’t cleaning up the leaky mess correctly.

His son has been charged with second degree murder.

It was not clear Sunday whether Kyle Webb had an attorney.

His dad apparently tried to punch the suspect – but fell backwards and hit a kitchen chair on the way down.

Kyle Webb told police he positioned his father’s arm across his throat and then laid himself across his head as the man lay face down on the floor. I want to take responsibility.

Kyle Webb then sat there for 12 minutes to “prove a point” about his ability to control his dad.

Police and members of the fire department found an unresponsive 74-year-old man, who then was transported to a hospital. His bail has been set at $100,000.
