Great British Bake Off: Candice crowned Series 6 victor

The Great British Bake Off final airs tonight on BBC One at 8pm. GBBO is a quintessentially BBC programme.

After seven years of soggy bottoms, burnt biscuits and who could forget, Baked Alaska-gate, fans of the Great British Bake Off are preparing to bid an emotional farewell to the show on the BBC.

The media mogul praised the BBC for its job in “cultivating great talent” and also for “telling very British stories that a decade ago were nearly impossible to get produced”.

She said: “When they said my name that means more to me than anyone will ever realise”.
