Unlike previous winners, Nadiya’s baking skills were far from ideal when she entered the competition.

She has, after all, been the show’s “star baker” three times – earning herself the hallowed “Hollywood handshake” for her signature bake in last week’s semi-final.
Nadiya also explained that she decided to make a lemon drizzle cake for her showstopper because she never had her own wedding cake.
Her final showstopper of a with lemon drizzle cakes proved the decider in red, white and blue proved the decider.
“I like lemon cakes, I like chocolate cakes, I like mud cakes”, proclaimed their daughter – which is good, with a mum like Nadiya.
“My best moment in the tent I think I would go back to bread week mainly because I was in my element.”, he said.
This year’s Bake Off final didn’t have me on the edge of my seat because I felt Nadiya winning was a bit of a foregone conclusion.
Nadiya Hussain has said that “the only way is up” following her victory on The Great British Bake Off.
Nadiya watched the final with her mum, dad, brothers, sisters and all of their children and said there wasn’t a scrap of cake to hand.
Ten million people tuned in to last week’s semi-final – the biggest audience for this series up to that point.
A chef lecturer has told Pirate FM more students are showing an interest in cooking courses since the Great British Bake-Off.
After nine years as a stay-at-home mum, she said it is “my time now for an adventure” and has begun studying for an Open University degree in childhood and youth studies.
Nadiya emerged as the victor despite coming last in the technical challenge in the very first episode.
Bake Off champion Nadiya has her husband to thank for pushing her to apply for the show, when she believed she had no chance of making it on to television.
There were tears too from Ian, who’d dreamt up his elderflower iced buns while cycling by hedgerows, and dishy Tamal, whose sticky toffee pudding cake inispired by a Chinese abandoned village and garlanded in spun sugar, could not atone for his badly iced buns and runny creme pat.
Great British Bake Off victor Nadiya Jamir Hussain has described her animated eyebrows as “acrobatic” and admitted she was shocked to find out they were so expressive.
“I’m never going to say I can not do it”.
