Green Bay Packers edge out Jacksonville Jaguars

It’s not the outcome Bortles nor his team wanted and needed.

“The passion for the game runs deep”, Smith said Monday.

Even though Prescott was able to wow the audience, the Cowboys were not able to make much of anything happen. That was a close one. Enjoy it now because one day – when the Packers’ streak of quarterback fortune ends – we’ll think about those bygone teams that were always a threat to score 50 points and remember how good we had it.

“They were in zone, so I tried to sit in the zone and, obviously, Aaron’s great when he gets on the move”, Nelson said.

“We went through a very exhausting process with this”.

Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey sprained his ankle in Sunday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers. The offence scored on five of its last seven possessions. Aaron Rodgers played well, the defense did its’ job, and K Mason Crosby didn’t miss. In his first game of any kind since his torn ACL more than a year ago, Nelson didn’t appear to be on the same page with Rodgers.

The Packers have won 15 consecutive regular-season games when Nelson catches a touchdown pass from Rodgers, with the last loss being the 2013 opener at San Francisco. Speaking to Jared Odrick after the game, he said he didn’t know it was a sack. With a huge off-season and what presents a greatly improved roster, between the lines every Sunday is where the Jaguars could prove this, starting with Green Bay at home in Week 1. “Hopefully we take this and use it next week against the Chargers”. The Jaguars are 2-10 all-time on the West Coast, including 0-3 in San Diego. That doesn’t change the fact that the Jaguars’ pass rush (or lack, thereof) was atrocious.

IVORY HOSPITALIZED: Jaguars running back Chris Ivory could be sidelined another week, a potential problem for a team that averaged 1.8 yards a carry without him. No wonder the operative feeling after Sunday’s game was relief. Rodgers, the former MVP, opened the scoring by rushing into the end zone in the first quarter (somebody surely made some money on a Rodgers rushing for first touchdown prop bet), after an unlucky Bortles interception had ruined a solid opening Jacksonville drive. On 4th an 1 the Jaguars completed a screen pass to Alan Hurns. But Bortles had no timeouts and didn’t have enough time on the play clock to change the call.

“We’re going to win the Super Bowl”, he said.

“I thought we were just coming here for the tour for my birthday, and all of a sudden, all my family shows up, and he gets down on one knee”, Small said. If there was one overriding emotion in the locker room it was anger. Now, though, they want and demand more. “It’s good”, Bortles said.

“There is a difference between you expecting to win and you knowing you are going to win”.

“Yeah, when we we’re planning for this game, I expected our best”, he explained of his pre and post game emotions.

A 23-27 defeat reflects a significant step in the right direction, but as Gus Bradley himself noted “we will not accept defeat”.
