Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong is adjusting to the real world
An official trailer has arrived for an indie comedy titled Ordinary World, from the director of John Krasinski’s The Giant Mechanical Man from 2012.

Back in 2014, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong had reportedly landed a starring role in Geezer, a film centred on a former punk rocker in the throes of a midlife crisis. When Perry’s hotshot attorney wife (Blair) and precocious young daughter forget his 40th birthday, his brother (Messina) takes pity and gives him the money to throw a huge rockstar blowout in a fancy NY hotel. The night brings out former bandmates, his old manager, and the chance to restart his musical career.
NME says that Ordinary World includes four new songs by Armstrong, including the title track, which appears as the closing track on Revolution Radio.

Ordinary World boasts a star-studded cast, including Selma Blair as Perry’s wife, Judy Greer as the recipient of a lucky serenade, and Fred Armisen as a like-minded music fiend and bad influence on Perry’s big 4-0. You can hear a snippet of “Ordinary World” at the end of the trailer (shown above). The film will screen in select theaters and will also arrive on DVD the same day.
