Green fined $25000, not suspended for groin kick

Recap of the previous episodes: Green, never the gentlest of players, delivered a knee in game 2 of the Western Conference Finals to the groin of Steven Adams.

“I didn’t even really think about it. I knew the league was going to let him play or fine him, upgrade him to a Flagrant 2…we all knew that was going to happen”.

“During a game, players – at times – flail their legs in an attempt to draw a foul”, the official added.

Green will still be playing in Game Four on Tuesday at Oklahoma City.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after the game that he didn’t think anything nefarious happened.

Said Kerr: “To me, it’s no different from Westbrook kicking his legs out on the threes when he feels like there’s contact”. Each player just handed my phone back and shook his head in disbelief, except for J.R. Smith.

“There was no intent”, Curry said. Draymond Green had the ball in the post and as he went up he got fouled by Steven Adams. “Watching the replay, I think that’s clear”.

“But like I said, I thought it would get rescinded because I’m not trying to kick him. People might look at that and say, ‘He did it then – he tried to do [it again].’ Would I be that obvious, if I’m trying to do it?'” “It’s a struggle, and I gotta make sure it builds character”. “That doesn’t make sense”, Green told reporters after the game. The Warriors were heavily favored to both win the series and repeat as National Basketball Association champions following a historic 73-9 regular season, but their quest to defend their title has been stifled against Kevin Durant and the Thunder. “I always do it. Russell said I did it on goal, but hes part of the superstar group that started all this acting in the National Basketball Association.”.

Green should have been suspended for a game, especially because the league made a decision to suspend Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Dahntay Jones for essentially the same move. I was following through on the shot, and my leg went up. “So that kind of sat well with me, and talking to him yesterday, that’s a guy that’s been through it all, man”. Green’s dirty hit came during a relatively close game, while Jones’ came in the closing seconds of a blowout loss.
