You will be able to see Greg Ward Jr.in action when the Houston Cougars and Cincinnati Bearcats kickoff a primetime matchup at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN Thursday night inside historic Nippert Stadium. It will be a challenge for an improving Bearcat defense that has forced eight turnovers (plus-2.5 margin) after being ranked 124th in turnover margin (minus-1.5) past year. A minor injury to his throwing shoulder kept Ward out of Houston’s 42-0 victory over Lamar last weekend. Ward underwent treatment prior to the game, and the delay allowed him to receive a second treatment that wouldn’t have happened until Sunday. Houston couldn’t have received better news prior to its AAC opener. Houston has held four straight opponents – Lamar (15), Oklahoma (70), Florida State (16) and Temple (98) – to fewer than 100 yards rushing. Ward will have his top rusher in the backfield Thursday, too.
