Gregg Allman cancels shows due to ‘serious health issues’

Then 28 canceled appearances include September 30 at the Ironstone Amphitheatre in Murphys and October 1-2 at Mountain Winery, all as part of a co-headlining tour with ZZ Top, and October 4 with his band at Uptown Theatre in Napa.

As Team Rock reports, the musician hasn’t specified the nature of his health problems, though he states that he is under care of doctors at the Mayo Clinic.

Allman is best known for his time performing with the Allman Brothers Band during the 1970s. In 2014 many of them paid tribute to his music at the All My Friends: Celebrating the Songs and Voice of Gregg Allman concert in Atlanta.

Allman’s had a pretty tough year on the road in 2016.

His current tour has been full of incident – back in April (16), his tour bus crashed in West Virginia.

Allman has endured a handful of health issues over the years, including a 2010 liver transplant that led to the cancellation of numerous shows. He detailed his unusually colorful life in a 2012 autobiography, My Cross to Bear.
