Greta Gerwig To Make Solo Directorial Debut With ‘Lady Bird’

Known for her collaboration-cinematic and otherwise-with Noah Baumbach, and celebrated for her distinctively tottering acting style, Gerwig co-directed and starred in 2008’s “Nights and Weekends” with Joe Swanberg, a messy long-distance relationship breakup story and one of the early mumblecore films, which she has now drifted away from.

Greta Gerwig keeps it chic and sophisticated while attending a photo call for her latest film Mistress America held at Picturehouse Central on Tuesday (August 4) in London, England. And with that primary duty hers, this will be a project for which Gerwig finds someone else to star.

The 32 year old’s past writing credits include Frances Ha, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical and Mistress America. Scott Rudin is producing with Eli Bush and Evelyn O’Neill. A March 2016 shoot is planned, with locations in Sacramento, CA. It was about 30 pages, it was a long section, and a lot of things happened and there were new characters. I don’t think it’s possible. The details on Lady Bird are scarce, but apparently it involves a young woman deciding to move from Sacramento (the capital of California, trivia fans), and chronicling her last year in the city.
