Greta Quits Fox News Just As Election Heats Up

“I want to thank all the fearless women who came forward to tell their own stories and the many people across the country who embraced and supported me”, she said.

“All women deserve a dignified and respectful workplace”, she said. Ailes through his attorney has denied the allegations.

But Van Susteren, one of Fox’s most celebrated and respected hosts, had been among the first to publically defend former chairman and founder Roger Ailes when Carlson slapped Ailes with a sexual harassment suit in July.

When talk began that top executives of 21st Century Fox wanted Ailes out, there were reports that many of Fox News’ high-rated anchors would quit as a result. He built it into a dominant news network and a force in Republican politics.

Fox News’ parent company announced Tuesday it had settled a lawsuit with Gretchen Carlson, a former anchor of the news channel.

Greta Van Susteren is out at Fox News. “Her husband, John Coale, an attorney who has worked as her agent in the past, could also not be reached for immediate comment”.

“I took advantage of the clause in my contract which allows me to leave now”.

Van Susteren said on Facebook that she gave notice to Fox last Thursday.

Van Susteren, an attorney who hosted a legal show at CNN before joining Fox, has had a richly varied career, from interviewing presidential candidates to flying off to disaster zones such as Haiti, where she opened an orphanage and school named after her.

Van Susteren was already planning to leave, but she thought she would be hosting her 7 p.m. program “On the Record” for a few more weeks.

Fox didn’t give a reason for Van Susteren’s departure, but one rumor attributed it to a financial dispute.

If there is anyone at Fox who doesn’t feel like the earth is crumbling under their feet, they better look again. So she chose to activate that clause. It is easy to see all three ending up with shows on a Trump network.
