Grigg, Washington make Northern Ireland’s final Euro 2016 squad
The second half was less of a contest with Northern Ireland happy to play keep-ball, but Grigg got the goal the whole world craved with two minutes to go.

Brown brogues and a blue three-piece might be all the rage on Wall Street but it looks a bit naff heading to a major football tournament.
The squad, light on left-back options in the absence of the injured Chris Brunt, includes the 36-year-old defender Aaron Hughes, who won his 99th cap in Friday’s 3-0 defeat of Belarus at Windsor Park.
“I notified the players who weren’t going on Wednesday”, said O’Neill.
Robbie Fowler, Steve McManaman and Jamie Redknapp in their matching white Armani suits. I’ve scored more goals in the last nine or 10 games than I did in the last eight years and that speaks for itself.
Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill has announced his final 23-man squad for UEFA EURO 2016, with Wigan striker Will Grigg and MK Dons full-back Lee Hodson both getting the nod. He is in a good place and he came on against Belarus and scored his first global goal. He had a great season for his club, is going to the Championship and hopefully he can continue.
Another Dons connection with the full squad for the Euros is former Dons loanee Will Grigg, who has also received a call-up.
“My strike-rate is good but if my head was where it is now seven years ago, I think I’d be much closer to it”.
‘There was a good atmosphere during the game, ‘ O’Neill said. In terms of whether it is my last, I have not made up my mind on that one yet, McAuley admitted to the Belfast Telegraph.
“We were able to play about with things a bit and it was a flawless night for us”.

“It will be hard, we have tough games against teams who have world-class players but as long as we are strong as a team, I’m sure we could surprise a few people”, he added.
