Grizzlies aim to keep Mike Conley, add Chandler Parsons

Since Memphis is Conley’s current employer and the holder of his Bird rights, a full max offer from them would be worth approximately $153 million. On Friday, new National Basketball Association rumors surfaced that they also want Dwight Howard to the team.

There was some worry that Conley might look elsewhere, but the Grizzlies have been exceedingly confident he would stick around for more than a year after Marc Gasol did the same last summer. Assuming Nowitzki comes back, the other returning starter is shooting guard Wesley Matthews, a free agent who got bumped up to a max contract with Dallas previous year when Jordan changed his mind.

Thank you for reading and relying on TulsaWorld.com for your news and information. Parsons posted on Instagram under a picture of him posing with Fizdale and a No. 25 Memphis jersey. Especially considering that free agent guard Chandler Parsons agreed to a long-term deal with the team yesterday, things are looking up in Memphis.

The 27-year-old Parsons also met with and received a max contract offer from the Portland Trail Blazers when free agency opened.

When healthy, he is a playmaking forward who can shoot the 3-pointer a much-needed attribute for the Grizzlies and defend multiple positions. Dallas signed Parsons to an offer sheet two years ago, and the Rockets didn’t match. It seemed like it was one big-name free agent after another that either wasn’t giving the Lakers the time of day or that didn’t seem all that interested but were giving LA a courtesy.

CBS Sports indicated that the Blazers were able to “land a meeting” with the 6-foot-10 stretch four to pitch him to join the squad and team leader Damian Lillard is allegedly going to be present. Parsons should put them back in the middle of the pack. He was the driving force behind the Parsons move to the Grizzlies.

Signing Conley later rather than sooner would preserve the Grizzlies’ cap space that could be between $25-30 million.

In addition to Parsons getting a big deal in Memphis, it appears that Matthew Dellavedova could be on his way out of Cleveland.
