A person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press on Wednesday that the incident occurred last Saturday while Fisher was attending a gathering at the home of Barnes’ estranged wife, Gloria Govan, an actress and reality TV star.

The National Basketball Association has not released a statement regarding the incident, but according to Yahoo!
Sources of the New York Post said that the 35-year-old swingman got a call from his six-year-old twin sons Carter and Isaiah, telling him that Fisher was at the house.
Following the dustup, Barnes, 35, texted a pal that he had not only assaulted Fisher, 41, but also took revenge on Govan, one source said.
“[Matt drove there to] beat the s- out of Fisher”, said the source. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the league punishes Barnes – a former Lakers teammate of Fisher – if it finds evidence to support the Post’s description of events.
The brawl came to an end after Matt’s kids begged them to stop fighting.
Fisher and his wife filed for divorce in March. I’m going to bet they’re not going to be super happy with a player crashing a bonfire at his own house and beating up a coach.
Barnes has been arrested before, once in 2010 on suspicion of domestic violence, and once in 2012 on a misdemeanor traffic warrant.
He said that he, Govan and their two sons had driven from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles together earlier that day after Barnes completed training camp with the Grizzlies, who were training in the area.
Fisher didn’t sport any visible bruises when he spoke with reporters before the Knicks’ preseason game on Wednesday.
Interestingly, on Monday, Fisher was absent from Knicks practice, which the team said was for personal reasons. “We have no further comment at this time”.
As for Govan she’s directing her efforts towards filing a restraining order against Barnes. I don’t want to start off by having anything negative so we’ll let the process take place.

The Knicks will face off against the Grizzlies twice this season.
