Groin injury expected to rule Germany forward Mario Goetze out until 2016
The player was a starter for Germany in last night’s historic 1-0 loss to Ireland at the Aviva, but had to hobble off after James McCarthy crashed into him in the 31st minute to try and win back the ball.

Mario Gotze insists he never considered seeking a move away from Bayern Munich before this season.
“Mario suffered a tendon tear in the abductor muscle while making a lunge”, said Germany team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt.
Gotze has been a key player for Pep Guardiola this season, playing in 11 of the 12 games thus far, while scoring four goals and providing two assists.
Bayern face Arsenal in their next Champions League group-stage game at The Emirates on 20 October.
“It’s annoying for us and a real shame for him”, added national team coach Joachim Löw.
Gotze has been included in Germany’s latest squad to face Ireland and Georgia in their upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers this week.
The news comes as a blow to Bayern, with Gotze having enjoyed a strong run of form in recent weeks after heavy criticism during the early part of his career at the Allianz Arena.
Germany captain Bastian Schweinsteiger is also a doubt for the match against Georgia, from which a defeat could see Low’s side rescind an automatic qualifying spot and drop down into the playoff place if Ireland and Poland draw on Sunday.

“It was to be expected that Ireland would be defending with nine, sometimes even 10 men, get behind the ball and try long, hopeful balls”, Low said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
