Gronk, Edelman back at practice
However, Edelman will not play. Belichick once blamed Wes Welker’s torn ACL on the Reliant surface back in 2010, saying “the turf down there is awful”. The Patriots will also be without star linebacker Dont’a Hightower. Getting Edelman back into the lineup early will give him plenty of time to get back into playing shape and let him get those bad games out of the way in the regular season.

Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman were both on the field following absences due to injuries.
“I’m doing everything I can to get better every single day, and it feels good to be back with my teammates – just mentally, physically to be back with them out on the practice field”, Gronkowski said Friday during a brief statement.
Inclusion on the team trip is typically a good sign for a player’s status, but Gronkowski remains legitimately questionable after logging two limited practices during the week.
Edelman leads the Patriots with 61 catches.
Gronkowski has been far and away Tom Brady’s most explosive weapon offensively since coming into the NFL as a second-round pick out of Arizona in the 2010 NFL Draft.
Jets: Cornerback Darrelle Revis fully participated in practice for the first time since suffering a concussion three weeks ago.
Gronk, who suffered a knee injury in Week 12 against the Denver Broncos, “is expected to play” Sunday night, a source told the Boston Globe’s Ben Volin.

When asked about his involvement in Friday’s practice, Edelman replied, “We’re not gonna get into that, but it was good to be out there”. His absence means the Titans will play three rookie receivers – Dorial Green-Beckham, Tre McBride and Andrew Turzilli – along with veteran Harry Douglas. That timetable could still hold true as it’s unclear when Edelman will be ready for game action.
