Gronk returns to practice
The team has had Julian Edelman and Dion Lewis out, while Danny Amendola was out in Week 12. Although it has been a rough couple of games for the Patriots there may be some good news heading their way. Edelman’s was no small injury either, but he could be improving more rapidly than the Patriots predicted, according to ESPN.

In other injury news, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandin Cooks missed practice on Thursday with a concussion and his status for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers appears to be in doubt.
He may not be quite finished yet though with his recovery process.
No word yet on whether either Edelman or Gronk would play Sunday night at Reliant Stadium – and based on Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s history there, we frankly doubt either even making the trip.
However, today he made his return – at least to the practice fields. His availability for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans hasn’t yet been revealed.
This marks the second straight day that the Patriots had a top offensive player return to practice, as tight end Rob Gronkowski returned Thursday and was limited.

There’s no timetable for his return after missing four practices. The Patriots still have a chance to get the number one seed, as the Broncos and Bengals are playing in Week 16, but they will also need some help down the stretch to get it.
