Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Matthew McConaughey Turned Down Villain
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is casting right now, which means it’s time for all sorts of fun rumors and speculation. The German/Vietnamese character has been a member of bothThe Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. While numerous leading players will return for the highly anticipated Marvel sequel, actress Pom Klementieff has nabbed one of the new roles.

Relative unknown Pom Klementieff has just boarded Marvel’s upcoming outer space adventure, to be directed once again by James Gunn.
It’s a big break for Klementieff, who has worked largely in France before making her United States movie bow in Spike Lee’s recent Oldboy remake. She is better known to Korean audiences, but in the U.S.is best known for playing Sharlto Copley’s henchwoman in the remake of Park Chan-wook’s Oldboy.
According to Variety, Gunn and Marvel wanted snake-hipped former rom-com dross-artist Matthew McConaughey to slur drunkenly all over the screen as the film’s villain.
But who wouldn’t want to go on a press tour with Chris Pratt?
Klementieff was cast following a very, very wide search for an Asian actress, but which character would require an actor of this specific ethnicity? Vietnamese, Mantis is trained by a group of specialized Kree priests in martial arts and enhanced with mental abilities before her memory is wiped as an adult.
