Guardiola favours City rivals United
In a stab to the heart of any of the game’s remaining sentamentalists, Bayern Munich have coldly, calculatedly and callously decided on a replacement for Pep Guardiola when he quits the Allianz at the end of the season.

The former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti, recently linked with a return to his previous club Real Madrid, is said to be the favourite to take over at Bayern should Guardiola depart.
In the DFB Pokal, Bayern have already knocked out the holders Wolfsburg and they can expect to see off the challenge of Darmstadt on December 15 to reach the quarterfinals, even if Guardiola insists it is not as easy as his side are making things look.
Bayern München coach Pep Guardiola has said that the club must “analyse” defender Jerome Boateng’s knee injury after he was withdrawn midway through Saturday’s Bundesliga clash with Hertha Berlin. I know that it’s late, just days before Christmas. “They come and they go at one point”, said Rummenigge. “There is no person in the world who becomes irreplaceable at some stage”.
Bayern are on course to win a record fourth consecutive championship, and have also impressed in Europe despite the ongoing uncertainty about Guardiola’s future.
Reports suggest that he will succeed Manuel Pellegrini after this season.
Pellegrini’s priority is to get City back to winning ways after a 4-1 thrashing by Liverpool in the Barclays Premier League last weekend and a midweek loss to Juventus in the Champions League.
Former United chief Sir Alex Ferguson previously mentioned in a book that he held discussions with Guardiola over dinner in NY during the 2012-2013 season, to try and lure him to Old Trafford.
“I never have any problem about my work so it doesn’t matter what rumors say, if not it is impossible to work in every big team”.

Louis van Gaal has come under criticism in recent weeks for his style of play, and with fans losing patience with the Dutchman it could open the door for Guardiola.
