“I’ve been told by the manager to be part of the squad for this season so I’m more than pleased about this because City was always my priority”, Zabaleta told reporters.

“There are a lot of games and players can not play every three days so the players who are ready will play more”. It was incredible. Every day there was a new club. “I’m so happy to be part of Manchester City for this season”.

“I’ve always been away from that because I knew from the first day it was my decision (to stay)”.

Spaniard Guardiola left Bayern Munich at the end of last season to succeed Manuel Pellegrini as City coach.

And Etihad sources say there are no plans for them to bring in another goalie – meaning Hart and Willy Caballero will be the two choices for the new boss. “Last season, he was overweight and had injuries all season and we want to avoid that”.

“We know how hard it will be this season in the Premier League. It’s going to be so interesting”.

Signing Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito and Leroy Sane so far, City have managed to get much of their business conducted swiftly and efficiently whereas Arsenal still toil to get a deal for Alexandre Lacazette concluded.
