Guardiola: I can’t teach Aguero anything
City are regarded as one of the favorites with Pep Guardiola at the helm, and they showed that quality as they made slight work of their German opponents.

City attacked the game in a manner akin to their slick first-half display in Saturday’s 2-1 win at Manchester United and it took them less than nine minutes to go in front.
“We played very well so thanks to all the players for making me so happy”, Guardiola said.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola hailed the majesty of prolific marksman Sergio Aguero after the Argentine’s hat-trick stoked his side’s Champions League hammering of Borussia Monchengladbach.
Kelechi Iheanacho also got on the scoresheet late on as City made up for lost time after torrential rain washed out the first attempt to play the fixture at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday. Forget about it. We are in this competition and so proud to be in the competition.
“In three or four weeks coming here is the best football player ever (Lionel Messi), with Luis Suarez, with Neymar and the incredible Barcelona team, and we have to come here to enjoy it”.
There were positives all over the field for City, perhaps no more so than the sight of Ilkay Gundogan running midfield on his debut following an off-season move from Borussia Dortmund.
“I am very happy, it was a ideal day for me”, Gundogan said.
“I can not teach him that, but he has to know that behind there is a team that’s going to help him, if he’s going to help, and that is what I want to convince him”. “I don’t know if it will be in time to play against Bournemouth but hopefully next week in Swansea he can be ready”.
He added, “I just try to analyze things to improve because you can always do better”.
It is the second time in a month Moenchengladbach have had a game called off owing to rain after a friendly against Inter Milan on August 10 suffered the same fate. He was not ready to play 90 minutes, that is what I thought.
The opening five minutes saw a sloppy start for both sides, but Gundogan and De Bruyne we’re looking bright as City started to get their crisp passing going and really started to dominate the ball after the five-minute-mark and left the Germans ball watching. “We created a lot of chances”.
“If they believed I failed in Munich because I didn’t win the Champions League I have to accept that but I never said it is how I would be judged”.

“We knew how important a win was – we are in a very tough group – so it’s huge, and psychologically it was hard to wait another 24 hours”.
