Ancelotti will replace Guardiola at the Allianz Arena.
Ancelotti has won the European Champions League three times, twice with AC Milan and once at Real Madrid, and guided Chelsea to the Premier League title and FA Cup in 2010.
“I am convinced that Pep and our team are now going to work even more intensively on realising our sporting ambitions, particularly now that it has been confirmed that Pep will be leaving Bayern”.
“Carlo is a calm, level-headed expert who knows how to work with stars and plays a brand of football rich in variety”.
Bayern are set to confirm after Saturday’s game against Hannover that Guardiola will not be renewing his contract and will leave the club at the end of the current campaign.

2015-16 season – So far, so good.
City are third in the Premier League table and remain favourites to win the title and Pellegrini acknowledged that returning the trophy to the Etihad Stadium would make him more hard to dismiss.
Ancelotti’s pedigree as a Champions League-winning manager is bound to be trumpeted by Bayern, and it is worth noting that the only realistic Champions League title contenders in recent years have been the two Spanish clubs in Real Madrid and Barcelona and Bayern themselves.
“It’s not my problem because I don’t think for them”.
That is the view of former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, who feels the Red Devils would be foolish to let their City rivals go unopposed in their pursuit of the Spaniard. Nevertheless, he is an excellent man manager who is adept at balancing egos, proving highly popular with players and motivating them to succeed.
“The best manager in the world is definitely Guardiola and when he becomes available people are going to be interested, and I think United are no different”.

Forward Thomas Muller admitted the Darmstadt win “was not a Gala performance” while captain Philipp Lahm says the Bayern squad has been running low on energy for weeks. I’m very happy about my career and my work.
