Guardiola urges City fans to forget Champions League gripes

We want him to play a lot of games for us so we’ll put him in when we think it’s right. “When it doesn’t happen they become injured and when that happens other players take their positions”. We can not disguise his quality.

It is said that the deal was actually struck in principle as far back as January, even before new manager Pep Guardiola breathed new life into the squad and the club as a whole.

There was some bad news for Guardiola though as their star playmaker David Silva was ruled out of tomorrow’s clash. The German impressed against Borussia but that was his first game following a five-month lay-off with a knee injury.

Gundogan, signed from Borussia Dortmund during the summer, made a belated City debut on Wednesday with Silva absent.

As quoted by The Guardian, he replied when asked about Aguero’s contract situation; “I think he’s going to extend the contract but it’s not official”.

“I haven’t seen the doctor and David”. It will be a hard game though, we’re going to have to be at the very top of our game and they may have to have a day where they don’t perform so well, if those two things happen then we have a chance’.

“I think, honestly, what these players have done since the beginning [of the season], in our games at home and away, our players deserve the stadium completely full”.

“Coming from Germany, and having no winter break and two cup competitions means everything is changing for me”.

“We will see tomorrow”. There have been great performances from us and very special games and I hope that it will go on like that.

Guardiola, who won the Champions League twice as Barcelona boss and describes the competition as “beautiful” now wants fans to get fully behind the challenge.

“We’ve not been very happy the last two, three days”.

City’s Champions league record highlights two courses out at the group stage, twice going out in the last-16 and a club-best semi-final place more than five seasons.

The Spaniard said: “I was not here for what happened but they must forget what happened in the past”.

Guardiola said: “We were at home and asleep with our wives and people, our kids”. “We need him. It’s a lot of games and we need all the central defenders, strikers, wingers, attacking midfielders, holding midfielders, full-backs, goalkeepers – we need everybody”.
