Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola admits he “can’t be bothered” answering constant questions concerning speculation about English clubs with his current contract due to expire in June.

Carlo Ancelotti has also been mooted as a potential candidate, along with Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone.

Guardiola wasted no time as in his first season with Bayern Munich he won the German Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Federation Internationale de Football Association Club World Cup and secured the Bundesliga with a record seven games to go.

And Henry – who played under the Spaniard at Barcelona – insists the 44-year-old will eventually take charge of a team in England. He’s a competitor, he will want to win a title in every league possible.

The Catalan, who has been linked with a move to the Premier League next season, declined to confirm that possibility at a press conference yesterday, saying that now is still not the right time to discuss what will happen next season.

“He already speaks English”.

With Guardiola claiming contract talks with Bayern are not at the top of his agenda, he may just listen to offers from the Chelsea owner over a possible move.

Txiki Begiristain, City’s sporting director, and Ferran Soriano, the club’s CEO, are both long-standing friends of Guardiola, with the trio having worked together at the Nou Camp.
