Guccifer 2.0 takes credit for hacking another Democratic committee

This time the hacker has uploaded an Excel file that has personal contact information of Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) obtained from the cyberattack on his website on Friday. Mr. Hoyer said he was unaware that such information had been stolen and leaked to the public.

Guccifer has dismissed any connection to Russian Federation, but on Friday he said the upcoming US elections were becoming a “farce”, in which voters are no longer playing a leading role.

The other files he published relate directly to the presidential campaign, and may not be as interesting unless you know the ins and outs of United States politics.

So far the administration has not publicly identified who it believes may be behind the hack.

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said at a newsmaker breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor last week that investigators have not yet determined who is responsible for the hack. Asked if she was personally targeted, Pelosi said she did not know. “And we are assessing the damage”.

Rep. Jim Himes of CT, the top Democrat on the House subcommittee on the National Security Agency and cybersecurity, said he was not overly concerned that his personal information was released. Those leaked emails led to the resignation of former Democratic National Committee Chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz after the communications showed that party officials appeared to be trying to undercut the presidential campaign of Sen.

The hacked emails exposed an apparent lack of neutrality in the primary race between Clinton and Bernie Sanders, with some party officials disparaging Sanders.

He suggested “offensive measures” in response to the hack, echoing a letter by Representative Adam Schiff and Senator Dianne Feinstein last month. The campaign has met with the Federal Bureau of Investigation about the hack, though, the aide said, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation told them phishing attempts had been directed at the campaign. The spreadsheet, which the hacker lifted from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, also included contact information for several Republicans, such as John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Michele Bachmann, as well as passwords and usernames for several news outlets.

While these theories are up for debate depending on which security reports and news sites you like to read, the documents leaked tonight by Guccifer are no doubt authentic, as his previous leaks.
