Guidolin’s Swansea future in doubt after losing to Liverpool

The hosts took the lead early on through Leroy Fer, but second-half strikes from Roberto Firmino and James Milner secured a come-from-behind win for the Reds to send them second in the Premier League table.

Given that we’re just seven games into the campaign, it might be a little too soon to start making predictions as there is such a long way to go. It’s very important, always, because I have two hands and I’m pretty sure I have enough fingers to count the brilliant games in this season. I have lost a lot of football games, but today makes no sense. It was not good.

“We asked more hard questions in the second half”.

You can’t accuse the Swansea players of not working for their manager who obviously is under pressure, but Swansea did to Liverpool what Liverpool have been doing to teams all season.

Klopp suggested groin injuries for Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren would prevent them joining their respective national sides for forthcoming World Cup qualifiers.

After a number of chances at both ends Roberto Firmino equaled the score in the 54th minute, captialising off of blocked free kick that rebounded to Jordan Henderson who chipped the ball beautifully to the Brazilian, nodding in a header at the far post.

James Milner has credited Jurgen Klopp’s message to his players at the half-time break as the catalyst for the comeback win over Swansea City on Saturday afternoon.

Swansea manager Francesco Guidolin refused to be drawn on media speculation that he is set to be replaced by either Ryan Giggs or former United States coach Bob Bradley.

The Italian would not be drawn on his future and insisted that he is more concerned about the team’s predicament than his own future. I just have to work every day, every week to prepare the team, prepare for the game.

“I was anxious about them defensively”. It is not good.

“It was disappointing, but I thought in the last 10-15 of the first half we got going again and found our rhythm”.

Chelsea steadied their ship after two straight losses.

“It’s important that when you are not brilliant, you are still able to win”. “But we are working hard to improve and we will continue to do so”.

Cristhian Stuani headed Boro in front early in the second half, but West Ham levelled in the 57th minute when Payet waltzed across the box from the left, beating five defenders, before drilling home.
