Hasan, the 22-year old right-arm seamer, is the only one without any experience in global cricket. Due to a three-month suspension from the International Cricket Council, the legspinner missed Pakistan’s tour to New Zealand, the Asia Cup Twenty20 and the World T20 2016.

The selectors have also included rookie 22-year-old Hasan Ali after the right-arm paceman performed well for Pakistan “A” during its tour of England. Sami was impressive in the third Test against England at Edgbaston, scoring two half-centuries in the Test that Pakistan lost to concede a 1-2 lead to the hosts.

Leg-spinner Yasir Shah also made a comeback after missing most of the preceding limited-overs season due to a doping offense. Gul is one of four fast bowlers – including the uncappedHasan Ali – chosen to play against England and Ireland from August 18.

Notable exclusions from the squad were fast bowler Mohammad Irfan and opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad, who has been replaced by the in-form Sami Aslam.

Seamer Hasan Ali is the only player in the squad who hasn’t played worldwide cricket for Pakistan.

Seamer Hasan is in line for an worldwide debut at the age of 22 after catching the eye for Pakistan A against England Lions and Sri Lanka A, while Mohammad Irfan has been overlooked.
