San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said police did find several shell casings in an alley near the old Public Safety Headquarters and a restaurant. New York’s mayor, Bill De Blasio, ordered all foot patrol officers to work in tandem and said two officers will be posted outside all precinct stations. “This is not open season on police officers here in San Antonio or anywhere else”.

Investigators taped off a large area and shut down several streets.

Police apprehended one person who was seen running from the headquarters after the shooting but are now only questioning him.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, police were searching for a man described only as being in an orange shirt and blue trousers.

McManus said a auto was found near the crime scene, and it was believed that it could be connected to the shooting. The chief later said the vehicle was no longer under investigation.

This shooting comes with police departments on high alert following the targeted shooting of police officers in Dallas Friday.

“We don’t know what the motive was”, McManus said.
