Gunman who killed singer Christina Grimmie travelled to concert to attack her

After mourning the loss of “The Voice” alum Christina Grimmie on social media, Selena Gomez paid tribute to the singer during her Miami concert on Saturday night. Loibl, a 27-year-old from St Petersburg, Florida, shot and killed himself after shooting Grimmie.

As reported by the Orlando Sentinel, investigators have been looking into Loibl’s computer, cellphone and other belongings, trying to find a possible motive for the crime, but say there is no evidence that Christina and the shooter knew each other. “He had two additional loaded magazines for those handguns and a large hunting knife”.

Marcus immediately tackled Loibl who then shot and killed himself during the struggle.

Police Chief Mina said there were unarmed security guards at the concert venue who were checking bags but there were no metal detectors in place and no pat-downs for weapons.

After the incident, The Plaza Live issued a statement saying all events and activities are suspended until further notice.

He has set up donation page on GoFundMe to raise money to support Grimmie’s family through their grievances.

Adam Levine shared a photo with Grimmie on his Facebook and Twitter, which he captioned: “Behati and I are absolutely devastated and heartbroken by Christina Grimmie’s death”.

He said: “She was doing a meet-and-greet, just signing autographs and selling merchandise”.
