Gunshots fired at Raleigh mall; no suspects in custody

Police in Raleigh, N.C. put a mall on lockdown Saturday after witnesses reported gunfire in the building. He said he did not hear any gunshots himself. No one was being allowed in or out of the mall as of 3 p.m., police said.

Was about to make a purchase at Crabtree Valley Mall heard shots, ran out to parking lot, got to auto, and left.

Shoppers and store workers took to social media around 2:30 p.m. local time Saturday to say that the Crabtree Valley Mall was on lockdown following a possible shooting. Authorities sealed off the mall and closed a nearby road.

At least 100 people who were once inside the mall gathered at the Marriott Hotel across the street.

“Confirmed with a mall official that shots were fired and that police are securing the scene”. She said they heard “something pop” and then “pandemonium broke out”.
