Guus Hiddink confident of Chelsea revival
Chelsea FC captain John Terry brushed off claims that a mutiny in the dressing room led to José Mourinho’s exit, but the Englishman has backed Chelsea’s interim manager Guus Hiddink, whose appointment was confirmed on Saturday.

A subdued Holland, propelled into the Stamford Bridge hot seat by Mourinho’s sacking on Thursday, was relieved to guide Chelsea to a 3-1 win over Sunderland in his one game in charge before interim coach Guus Hiddink takes over.
There was anger from supporters at Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, who were booed, as well as the absent Eden Hazard, for what some fans believed was a lack of effort under Mourinho.
It was not one the Abramovich took lightly, according to Buck in his programme notes for the visit of Sunderland.
“Our thoughts are with the manager, because we’re disappointed that it falls on his head unfortunately”, the Blues skipper told Sky Sports. ‘We’re all in this position because one or two have performed and the rest haven’t, unfortunately. That’s me speaking honestly.
Already feeling the heat from United’s fans over the dire quality of his side’s football, he has now presided over six games without a win in all competitions. ‘But step by step, there’s a lot of games over Christmas, if we can go on a good run and climb the table then who knows.
“We’re big enough to stand up and be counted for, and today we needed everyone, and everyone was superb today”.
In Manchester, Cameron Jerome and Alexander Tettey netted in each half as Norwich stunned United by recording a first win at Old Trafford since 1989.
THREE – Chelsea scored more goals against Sunderland on Saturday than in their final five Premier League matches under Jose Mourinho.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has revealed that the playing body of the Club forced him into taking the decision to sack coach Jose Mourinho.
“They played with a little bit more freedom and I think in the first half Oscar had a smile on his face, he tried the rabona with the back of his foot for a cross – you wouldn’t see that under Jose Mourinho”.
“I’ve encountered these circumstances also with other teams and other staff. The main thing is that you have to be professional and do the things that you have to do and work very hard to come out of this bad period”. “He is a great man manager as well”.

He said: ‘Thinking of this game, I was happy with their contributions so I applauded them when they came off.
