Guus Hiddink ‘met Jose Mourinho for breakfast to discuss Chelsea’s squad’
Beginning this season, Mourinho’s “favourite” players had been uncharacteristically below-par and many thought it was beyond the ordinary what was faced with Chelsea.

Chelsea’s new interim manager Guus Hiddink (L), former player Didier Drogba (C) and Chelsea’s Russian owner Roman Abramovich walk onto the pitch to speak to the players after winning the English Premier League football match between Chelsea and Sunderland at Stamford Bridge in London on December 19, 2015.
With caretaker Steve Holland taking charge of the team while Hiddink watched from the stands along with former Chelsea favourite Didier Drogba, the home side needed only five minutes to take the lead.
“Whatever their feelings were regarding the situation they had a responsibility to the football club and its supporters all round the world”.
Hiddink also reiterated that he will leave Chelsea in May.
Speaking to BBC Africa, he said: ‘I want to give back to the club which has given so much to me.
Chelsea, embroiled in their worst start to a league season since 1978, were one point above the relegation zone ahead of Saturday’s home clash with fellow strugglers Sunderland but responded with a 3-1 victory.
One banner read “You let Jose down, you let us down”, and after Branislav Ivanovic and Pedro Rodriguez had put Chelsea 2-0 up inside 13 minutes, there was a deafening chant of: “Where were you when we were shit?”
“I am excited to return to Stamford Bridge”, Hiddink said in a statement on the Chelsea website before the game.
Spain forward Pedro has backed his club and global team-mate Cesc Fabregas to overcome hostility from some Chelsea fans and come good for the west Londoners.
Hiddink previously took temporary charge of Chelsea in February 2009 and guided the Blues to FA Cup success at Wembley.
“A lot of us have spoken publicly to say we haven’t been performing well enough; today is a step in the right direction to where we want to be, which is climbing the league table”.
Chelsea won at the weekend, but still find themselves sitting 15th in the Premier League table with just 18 points from 17 games.
“We saw previous year that we have a lot of quality, we were champions because of that”.
Chelsea’s announcement came hot on the heels of Mourinho revealing he is already looking for a route back into management.

And with so many fixtures in such a short space of time it will be hard for the Dutch coach to get his methods across.
